Dear Business Friends,

I would like to introduce our brewery in a few sentences and explain the technology of the Ferdinand Beer production briefly.

golden sealTo start with, let me introduce myself shortly. My name is Jaroslav Lebeda and recently I work as a brewer and production manager of the Ferdinand Brewery. After graduation from a secondary engineering school of food–processing industry I got a job within the brewery, where I have worked since 1989. During the years, I have experienced work in all departments of production and I have been applying the gained experience till nowadays. Let me say that the beer issue is more than familiar to me.

Considering the history of the brewery I would like to mention not only the year 1897, when the archduke František Ferdinand d‘Este built the malt plant and the brewery, which - with minor modifications in technological equipment – operates till nowadays; but mainly the fact that we are a genuinely Czech joint-stock company with no foreign participation that maintains its local position.

The brewery produces approximately 50000 hectolitres of beer per year. It produces altogether five types of beer ranging from non–alcoholic to special types. Our business policy is mainly focused on the domestic region and further on the export markets.

bronze sealThe beer production starts from the original recipe of brewery which uses Czech malt of own production and Žatec hop, with the use of traditional technology with open bottom fermentation and futher lagering in a beer–storage cellar. Under any circumstances we do not use modern ways of beer production, especially the CK tanks; nor do we adulterate the beer to the required alcohol amount.

We have tried to respect and keep to the traditions which our predeccesors left for us. This brings a deep commitment and, above all, really responsible and honest work of all employees who participate on the Ferdinand beer production.

Our beer should be noted for its full taste, harmonious scent and bitterness, which is ensured by the Žatec hop of the highest quality. The strong vigour and high frothing quality – that is the result of sufficiently long fermentation in the beer–storage cellar.

The brewery has produced high quality beer and the word “real” in our brandmark is not just a cliché. This Czech beer celebrates the ancient technology and skills of the brewers from Benešov.

We have chosen the right way, which is acknowledged by the fact that Ferdinand Brewery occupies prominent positions in degustation competitions.
